filmscratchjunkies2
it was really great to see the film again after have worked on one myself., People don't understand what goes in to making a film untill they undergo the process themselves. I reconsed some of what they did to make what we see on film. THese gues must have a lot of time and a lot of passion in what they are doing, seeing how long it took me and charile to make a one minute film i can now respect the work that they do. Its something so diffrent. Now when i looked at what they do i see not just moving images but hard labor. It fun like coloring in a coloring book when you have an out line and you can color it in any way you want, even going outside of the lines. I wish i had more knowlege of hw to do sound manipulation and more time to learn more tech. It was neet to see all of the classes work I enjoy this style of film making and will keep an eye out to see what the film junkies do next.

Chion
I totaly belive in this article, Sound is one the most important elements of a film. I belive it makes it or breakes it. I don't care how great your film is visualy or if you have the best actors in hollwood if your sound is wrong, the film is a bust. I think that is why i have a problem with many indepent films that i see, the sound isn't there, diologe is fine but its the atomsphere that sound they didn't ad that makes it worthless. i find it weird that our ears regonize things quicker then our eyes but then i think of the airplan eingin in the sky, we hear the jet befroe we focus in with our eyes or the we hear the crack of a ball before the ball is acutaly hit. good sound will enhace the moment even though i like those who play againts that, but again a love secen if due to have is romatic score. sound to me fills up the emptyness that can not be filmed on location. sure you can recored diologe, but even then wind outside forces hider this and one must go to the studio and rerecorded diolge. but i don't belive in the first part when he talks about he desterbing images in persona, if you see something disterbing, as a nail driven in the hand of some one, it will still be visualy disterbing, but again, sound gives it the add shock value i so love. i like the pointthat he makes about film images is like a ventriloquist, we are we manipulate what a audance will see acording to our likings. as he talks about silent films i say sound still plays a toll, yes no diolge but when i watch a silent film i asoate sertain parts with what i know that sound would of made as if where on screen. pluss more so there was usually a musical score, so that again picked up the empty sapace. i belvie that sound has become to familure. we are use to what a pucnh should sound like or a kiss or even a car. i want to hear unusal sounds something fresh new. but i belive the normal viewing audance wounld excetp it. to take a film that scared the shit out of me mearly becasue of sound and not imagery was the excorist(SP!) i saw that film long ago and if i would watch it today, it didn't freak me out for the makeup or the green pea soup that shot out of a possed little girl. the sounds, moans, vocies, music, in that film more it or less scared the crap out of me. and i am not that easy to scare, in that film if the sounds would not of been so amazing it would proably not of done so well. This read was very ture to how i feel about sound and gave good insight to things i haven't thought about. as the thunder rolls at 1/48 in am i must turn my cpu off. so good night and good luck.

getten down on the freestyle
What to say other then it has been a long day, things are going well with the projects me and charile shot for the second project and are going to do so again tonight(There will be blood) looking forward to editing it the whole second project it the style that i am most intrested in, i have two major projects that i have worked on, wish people could see them but they are on a low buget editing sysetme that is all sorts of messed up , those that have love them even though they are severly disturbing. but thats what i am for, i love to shock for the simple reason of shock value. any project tha i do i try to make it twisted, its my nature. i am looking forward to thursday, talked to one of my parteners and we are just going to wing it and that is my faviorate way to do anyhting, just go balls out and see what happenas, funny, charlie just going to be late story of my life, i have had a very hard time in this college finding people to work with, who are relaiable. i have seen that even in a college as this there are still clicks of people that won't let you in, even when i find someone that might be like myself they are already in a group and are stuck up like the rest. and if not, when you do find people you work well with, they are not in my case as enthused about the project. nor profesional showing up late, forgeting equiment. Making me look bad wich pisses me off. But out side of school i find people that love film as i do and want to make films that are not cute and nice. Up early and ready to shoot, Movies fuck yeah! Maybe i am just not college materail. and this is not new yourk so i am not dressed for success in a town stil living in the old sothern traditions, i deal with those that say o i am opened minded i am in college. liars pretending there nice close hide the ape like refection they still posses. Damn a ture freestyle.

Wells Animation
This article was filed with lots of great infromation on about regular and experimatal anamation. In the artcle he explains the diffrences between the two, narativle style configuration and development. I like the explanation of how cell anamation is made and how it is diffrent from experimental. I don't agrea with him about how experimental are tottaly personal becasue and only that person knows what he was thinking when making one i feel that even experimental these films do cause a person to feel and emotion no matter what that is. look at like and dislike feelings, a person may like or dislike an exoperimental film just like some people like or dislike some regular animated films, there for both styles have created some effect on a person. I do agre that the meaning is not as easy to understand unlike regular animated film but that is becuase a regualr anamated film has an easy story with a plot and diolague, if you tell the audiance what you want them to now they will no, it is hard for some people to understand when they are left to use there own imagiation. I feel most people are lazy and don't want everything to be handed to them. When i was first reading the article and he was explaing the convenitions of regular animation and how its all two D and dosn't draw itsslef that it is a cartoon all i could think about was Duck a muck, and blam he brought that up as well, coinceadance? I like animation, and i am worried that we are going to lose it, with all that the CGI stuff coming out. In the article when he was talking about cartoon charaters in reel films i remember the first film i saw like that as a kid, was Rodger Rabit. At such an early age i thought that was the most amazing thing i had ever seen a human and a real person exzisting in the same relm and vice versa. i like it when he talked about the diffrent catch lines of famous cartoon char. like bugs and daffy and so on. I do see the improtance of the catch line and its imprtance to the character. That is what people remember about a character, what they do and say, and how when the audiance isn't watching the show and use the catch line in there own conversation. I catch myself doing it all the time, maybe not from a cartoon but other films. The only proble with this article was that when i went to print it it was prineted weird and small,. very frustrating to read that way
